$100+ to weld the rim if the tire has been completely dismounted and removed from the wheel. (Tire shops can dismount the tire for you for about $40-$50.)
Rust repair
In Hawai’i, cars are extra vulnerable to rust.
Our temporary rust repair patches last 1-2 years. We’re happy to provide a ballpark estimate after seeing photos of the rust repair project, and we’ll get you an exact quote after seeing the project in person. (Given the way metal corrosion often hides out of sight, we do patches but not full rust removal and restoration, which this is rarely cost-efficient for the client.)
Exotic Metal Repair
Titanium & magnesium
We do repair welds on exotic metal parts, and the welds hold for about 6-12 months. First, we’ll run a test bead to analyze the level of contamination. If the bead takes, we’ll proceed with the repair weld. If the bead doesn’t take, we won’t charge you.
The reason the repair weld will only last 6-12 months is, whenever an exotic metal part cracks, and the crack occurs after the part has already been exposed to contaminants, there won’t be a great way to make the part as strong as it once was. The thickness of the walls on exotic metal auto parts tends to be relatively thin, making the welds brittle and prone to failure.
